Whilst we are based in the Congleton area, we also can help with funerals in the wider Cheshire, Staffordshire, and Derbyshire areas.
You need to register the death within 5 days, and you will need a medical certificate or permission from the coroner.
Once you have this, contact your local register office to arrange an appointment. In England and Wales, the registrar will give you a Certificate for Burial and Cremation, also known as the green certificate, which funeral directors need.
You will also receive a Certificate for Registration of Death, which you will need for sorting out affairs.

The Government's Tell Us Once service allows you to inform multiple organisations of a death at once.
When you register the death with a registrar, they will be able to tell you if the service is available in your area, and the unique reference number you will need to access the service by phone or online.
